A while back woodcarver Owen brought in some scraps from a project that was completed at his woodworking job. The pieces were too small for furniture or cabinets but the woodcarvers have made lots of different projects from the wood. Robyn's Elephant takes the prize. The knot makes a perfect eye for this piece that is going to a 4 year old elephant enthusiast.

Measuring in at just under 3 inches, this little guy came to me in need of a hand, two feet and a hunk of beard. Since there was no indication of just what the hand was doing I let him sit for a bit until it was clear he wanted a walking stick to hold in the hand I was going to carve. A tooth pick was just the right size.

I made this Red Rocking Horse toy for my Grand daughter. I used Blackberries, Raspberries and Blueberries to stain the Oak. It then has a coating of mineral oil and Beeswax. It went straight into her mouth as soon as she saw it.
